Hello! My name is Janet Koppinger or "Mrs. K." I have the honor of being a first grade teacher at Grace Lutheran School for the 2008-2009 school year.
Some of you know me and Grace Lutheran School, but others of you are new and I welcome you to the Grace family. I am excited to meet all of you and learn more about your families.
Here is a little information about me. I grew up on a small dry land/pig farm west of Savage, Montana. I attended Savage Public School for my elementary and high school schooling. After graduation from high school, I attended the University of North Dakota-Williston for two years. I transferred to Dickinson State University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a concentration in kindergarten education.
My first professional teaching job was in Lodgepole, South Dakota, in a one-room school house teaching three grades: kindergarten, first, and second. After two years at that position, my husband and son decided to move to Fargo. For three years, I taught at a daycare in Fargo as a preschool teacher/assistant director. My first teaching experience at Grace Lutheran School was as the preschool teacher and along with that, I was the kindergarten aide. I taught preschool for three years. Then I became a kindergarten teacher, I taught kindergarten for 4 years. I am now teaching 1st grade for the 2nd year! I really enjoy teaching 1st grade! Well, that is enough about me. I look forward to seeing you and your child very soon. I would love to talk with you about our wonderful school. See ya soon!!
